Lorenzo Doss continues to impress

Lorenzo Doss has impressed over the course of minicamp practices and in June, there were rumblings that he could be a dark horse to make the team.

He continued to impress at Fan Fest as he was able to jump a throw from quarterback Taylor Heinicke but alas, he dropped it.

He has some playoff experience, having been on the Denver Broncos roster that won Super Bowl 50. Other than that, his resume is not anything that would really stand out. In 15 games played, he has notched two pass deflections and four tackles.

It appears that he has taken his opportunity to play with the Carolina Panthers very seriously. To some, the pass breakup and jumped route seen on Friday is not that big a deal. However, in an indirect way, it is a continuation of a very strong showing on his part to this point.

Currently, Doss is ranked No. 4 on the depth chart for the left cornerback position per OurLads.com.

It will be interesting to see what Doss does during preseason contests. He definitely faces an uphill battle, but he has shown a willingness to work hard.
