The Carolina Panthers legend is no longer on the physically unable to perform list as of Sunday….
For the first time in quite a while, I have some good news to report. Julius Peppers is off the Physically Unable to Perform list after passing his physical. The Carolina Panthers veteran’s status change was first reported by Bill Voth of Panthers.com.
Julius Peppers (shoulder) has passed his physical and is now off the PUP list. Plan is to have him participate in some walkthroughs as the Panthers continue to bring him back slowly. Season opener still five weeks away.

As Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reported, Peppers began training indoors on Sunday.
Panthers DE Julius Peppers (shoulder) is off PUP list, per @PanthersBill. Just passed Peppers headed in for some indoor training. Will be phased into full-speed drills slowly.

About a week ago, it was announced that Peppers would miss the start of camp as he was unable to pass his physical. Offseason surgery as a result of a torn labrum sidelined the future Hall of Famer for the start of training camp. However, it was predicted that it was nothing serious at the time.
This is great news for the Carolina Panthers as they get him back in time for the final week of practices before the first preseason contest. Although he probably will not play a ton, he will at the very least be able to get up to speed with the rest of the team. Chances are, he knows what he is doing by now (just kidding, he definitely does), but it never hurts to get back up to game speed.

Currently he is the starting left defensive end on the Carolina Panthers depth chart per OurLads.com and I do not expect that to change anytime soon. Second in line is Bryan Cox Jr. and while Cox has promise Peppers’ presence is certainly needed on the line.
My guess is that Carolina Panthers fans will see him the most during the third preseason contest against the Miami Dolphins. It would certainly be fun to see him sack Ryan Tannehill a few times. Chances are, the post-Jarvis Landry Dolphins will struggle against the Panther defense, but I have been wrong before.
With Curtis Samuel and Cox coming off the PUP list earlier this week, the Carolina Panthers are finally getting fully healthy again. You never want to see injuries happen but the fact that they occurred during preseason is a blessing in disguise. If they show a little rust, you can substitute players at their position without much consequence. If they are healthy and ready to go, the preseason gives them time to warm up and be ready for the regular season.
It is all part of football, and if the preseason buildup is any indication, this year should be fun. Peppers and the boys will soon begin their quest to capture the Lombardi Trophy.
