Defensive End

Drafted in the fourth round, defensive end Marquis Haynes has enjoyed an impressive training camp to this point. Currently listed behind starter Mario Addison, the Panthers employ a rotational strategy and Haynes should see plenty of opportunities.

His impact off the edge and ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks fits right in with what new defensive coordinator Eric Washington hopes to get out of his defensive line. The surprise is, he’s currently listed ahead of Daeshon Hall and Bryan Cox Jr., two others expected to contribute this season.

Hall is returning from injury but the Panthers counted on Cox late last season and he appeared poised to battle for a prime spot in the defensive line rotation.
