Running Back

On offense, second-year running back Christian McCaffrey being listed as the primary back signals a change. Although he was anticipating more touches and serving a bigger role this season, the Panthers addition of C.J. Anderson seemed to have them focused on a similar running style to last season.

Jonathan Stewart served as the feature back and McCaffrey offered a change of pace but Turner may have reversed the focus on offense. If the depth chart holds true, McCaffrey is now the prime candidate on early downs with Anderson maybe on the field for short yardage situations.

Don’t expect much to be revealed during the preseason about this dynamic as neither will be on the field for any extended period of time but once the regular season arrives, how Turner uses these two will be fun to watch.
