How the offensive line will hold up

This has been a position of concern for the team for quite a while now. Between the injury to right tackle Daryl Williams and the overall concern about the lack of depth at the position, this should make for the top interesting thing to watch for come Thursday night against the Bills.

Especially when facing guys like Tremaine Edmunds and old friend Star Lotulelei, they are going to have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, the Carolina Panthers finished their first game-week practice of the season and the offensive line is still not where it needs to be. Taylor Moton should be out on the field for a least a series or two, and as of Friday, it was looking like they would be the ones to try and handle the gap left by Williams’s injury.  However, Amini Silatolu left practice on Tuesday in a golf cart and was set to be evaluated in Charlotte.  Per David Newton of ESPN. Silatolu has a torn meniscus in his left knee, and he will have surgery on Friday.

In the meantime, what will be perhaps the most intriguing thing is whether the new-look line will affect the passing or running game the most. My guess is that we will see the running game struggle a bit when they get the ball. Cam Newton has the ability to scramble out of the pocket and avoid the rush, whereas a running back does not often have that luxury. It will be interesting to see how that will play out on Thursday, especially with Silatolu out.
