Alex Boone, G
Outside of the locker room, free agent guard Alex Boone remains available after playing out his one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals last season. Another former undrafted free agent signee out of college, Boone played six seasons for the 49ers and one in Minnesota before starting 13 games at Arizona last year.
At 31 years old, Boone is obviously in the latter part of his career and may retire if not provided a chance with another NFL team. The fact he remains a free agent at this stage of the process is a bit alarming but he could provide NFL experience, something many other options will lack.
