One Carolina Panthers final 53-man roster projection is riddled with surprises…

The Carolina Panthers are halfway through their preseason yet many questions remain about their final roster selections. At a time when most teams are narrowing down their choices among backups and special teams players, Carolina is still searching for starters at a number of positions.

On defense, finding a corner who can consistently contribute opposite of James Bradberry has been a battle between Kevon Seymour and rookie Donte Jackson. Jackson currently appears to have the upper hand but each is expected to see plenty of action over the next two weeks.

Behind them, the safety position consists of veteran Mike Adams and a handful of potential candidates. Da’Norris Searcy was leading at strong safety but after suffering a concussion last week against Miami, remains sidelined and in the protocol.

Offensively, the Panthers have questions remaining at wide receiver and offensive line. Riddled with injuries, just finding a group that can stay on the field together up front would be a step in the right direction at this point.

Two weeks away from cuts down to the final 53-man roster, The Charlotte Observer released their projection for the team this season. Continue to see a few of their surprise selections.
