WR Torrey Smith

Smith, 29, is held to higher standard than the younger rookies. With a lot of competition at wide receiver, must make the most of every opportunity he is given. Last night he struggled to get to the ball. He was targeted twice but failed to reel in both passes. Smith let a beautifully thrown ball fall right through his hands. He finished the night without recording a single yard.

I like what I have seen from Curtis Samuel, Devin Funchess, Jarius Wright and Mose Frazier. Smith is a great guy both on and off the field. He brings valuable veteran experience into the locker room, but I would not be surprised if Smith loses his roster spot to one of the other receivers who has looked solid this preseason. Remember the Carolina Panthers can save $5 million if they cut him.
