Wide Receiver: C+

Many have argued that Newton finally has a core group of wide receivers who can help him reach career highs in pass completion percentages and effectiveness. While veteran Torrey Smith will help opposite Devin Funchess, many of these candidates for the final roster remain unproven.

Jarius Wright was overshadowed in Minnesota and there is a lot of potential here but the preseason didn’t indicate any significant change from past seasons. Rookie first-round pick D.J. Moore flashed a few impressive plays but this group needs more consistency before earning a higher grade overall.

Steps have obviously been made to improve this roster position but the jury remains out until at least a few games that actually count have been played.
