We take a look at three surprises the Carolina Panthers kept on the roster…

It is the first of September which means all National Football League 53-man rosters are finalized on this day. The Carolina Panthers were no exception to the rule as they trimmed down their roster in preparation for the opener against the Dallas Cowboys. While there were no absolute shocks in regards to who made the roster and who got cut, there were a few surprises as to who stayed on the roster. With that being said, they were necessary keeps in order to provide the team with depth moving forward.

We take a look at the three surprises that made the 53 man roster and try to assess while their role will be moving forward.
