Panthers practice squad set to begin 2018

Carolina Panthers set their practice squad ahead of regular season…

Over the weekend teams across the NFL cut their rosters from 90 down to the mandated 53, Carolina Panthers included. Following, a 10-man practice squad is constructed for those individuals on the roster bubble capable of assisting in team’s preparation and potentially being promoted to the active roster at some point during the season.

For the Panthers, a mix of both offense and defense were added as the team begins game planning for the visiting Dallas Cowboys to open the 2018 regular season. As all NFL teams trim their rosters a windfall of available players, particularly those with remaining practice squad eligibility become readily available. General manager Marty Hurney and coach Ron Rivera however, elected to fill the Panthers practice squad all with players to which they were familiar.

Spending at least some portion of training camp with Carolina, the following 10 individuals will continue their pursuit of earning an active roster position on the team. A familiar practice as injuries are unfortunately a natural part of the game and one in which the Panthers have become all too familiar with over the first month of preseason play and training camp.
