Two defensive linemen and two members of the secondary round out the initial practice squad for Carolina. While no linebackers are currently on this part of the team, it remains possible once veteran linebacker Thomas Davis returns from his suspension.

Sidelined for the first five weeks, four games, of the season, Davis didn’t count against the active 53-man roster allowing Carolina to keep an additional linebacker. Rookie seventh-round pick Andre Smith is the likely candidate to be demoted when Davis returns, meaning someone listed here could be out of a position.

All speculation at this point as a lot can happen over the course of five weeks during an NFL season.
