The Panthers initial practice squad appears loaded with guys who have the potential at becoming a part of the active roster at some point during the year. Depending on injuries and the performance of those currently active – Frazier, Hearn, Luke and Southward may be relied upon to contribute on Sunday.
Many have already spent time on the active roster allowing them to showcase their skills and give coaches the opportunity to see what they are capable of given the chance to perform. As the Panthers season progresses, there will be many factors which may or may not influence any of these players moving from the practice squad to the active roster.
Carolina opens the regular season at home on Sunday, September 9 against the Dallas Cowboys. Kickoff is set for 4:25pm ET.
