Carolina Panthers new event highlights owner, fan relationship
Carolina Panthers introduce new pregame festival for fans outside Bank of America Stadium.
Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has been quietly going about implementing his own vision for the franchise since taking ownership during the offseason. On Sunday, the Panthers kick off a new year and for the first time in history, a new era under the first owner since founder Jerry Richardson brought Carolina the Panthers nearly 25 years ago.
Tepper has been busy since purchasing the team, meeting players, greeting staff and even tailgating with fans prior to one preseason contest. The new Panthers owner has already expressed his desire to win both on and off the field but expect Tepper to put extra focus into opening week.
The team and fanbase is already anticipating a big reveal at midfield as they enter the stadium. Historically, the NFL shield logo has adorned the 50-yard line as an homage to the league from Richardson for awarding a franchise to the Charlotte area. Under Tepper, it is expected that for the first time in team history, a Panthers logo will be painted onto midfield.
Prior to the game, Carolina has announced a new fan tradition and celebration outside Bank of America Stadium, set to begin at 1:00pm ET with kickoff of the early NFL games. Known as “Panthers on Mint” the free event will feature appearances by Carolina legends, performances from the Panthers entertainment, a concert, and other surprise incentives.

Adding to the excitement level for fans, Tepper offered the following comments about the “Panthers on Mint” event to the official team website ahead of Sunday’s kickoff.
"“One of my favorite things in sports is the feeling of anticipation before an NFL game … Panthers on Mint will bring that excitement right to our front door in the heart of uptown Charlotte. We have great fans in the Carolinas, and this festival will enhance their game day experience.”"
Armed with a new experience to offer fans, Tepper continues implementing ideas and changes to help bolster the owner and fan relationship.
The Cowboys and Panthers are scheduled for kickoff at 4:25 ET on Sunday, September 9 in Charlotte. View the full schedule of events for “Panthers on Mint” here.
