Receivers: B-

Devin Funchess led all receivers with three catches for 41 yards, missing one pass and having another land just beyond his reach. Other than he and tight end Greg Olsen, who left with 33 yards on two catches after sustaining a foot injury, every other receiver was new to the roster this season.

General manager Marty Hurney has worked tirelessly to upgrade the receiver position and although it appeared Newton was still working on establishing a good relationship with his new options, they each displayed signs of a promising future.

Rookie D.J. Moore caught one ball that technically counted as a carry for three yards, Jarius Wright gained 23 yards on three catches, Torrey Smith grabbed one pass and tight end Ian Thomas contributed two catches on his only targets.
