“Run CMC” is not one-dimensional

Christian McCaffrey is still a catalyst. That much was clear in the Carolina Panthers 16-8 victory over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday. Whether it was through the air or on the ground, “Run CMC” did a little bit of everything.

McCaffrey ran the ball 10 times for 50 yards and caught six passes for 45 yards to lead the team in both receiving and rushing. He was one of the main producers of offense for the Carolina Panthers and in turn showed his versatility. In the offseason, there was talk of him getting increased touches. Now, it looks as though that gameplan is coming to fruition. Multiple times on Sunday, he managed to keep drives alive with his steadfast running as well as his timely catches.

Given the fact that Norv Turner loves utilizing his running backs, I would not expect his production and role to go down at any point during the season. The Carolina Panthers seem to want McCaffrey to do as much as he can to carry the offense and be a catalyst on that side of the football. As a result, Panthers fans should expect similar games for him throughout the course of the season.
