Kuechly is still the man

Luke Kuechly is still the heart and soul of the defense. That is perhaps the biggest takeaway from Sunday. After offseason shoulder surgery and missing the Pro Bowl due to injury, he came back on Sunday and reminded everyone why he is still one of the top linebackers in the game.

His 13 tackles paved the way for the Carolina Panthers defense. He was aggressive and seemed to be in the middle of every play. It was a trademark Kuechly game: a tough hard-nosed effort in which he took control.

Against the likes of Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, Kuechly and the rest of the Carolina Panthers defense will have their work cut out for them. Hopefully, Kuechly can continue to play well and carry this momentum over to next week. The biggest worry for him is his health. As long as he continues to stay healthy, a Pro Bowl berth is certainly an attainable goal again.
