Week 2: Final Ranking – No. 10

More from Cat Crave

The consensus standing for Carolina is at No. 10 entering Week 2 of regular season play. Despite the injuries, Carolina is expected to maintain a high level of play in part due to the depth of their roster and coach Ron Rivera‘s ‘next man up’ mentality.

Atlanta, the Panthers Week 2 opponent, ranks nearly two positions higher while New Orleans also remains close despite losing a shootout to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the shocking upsets from Week 1, Tampa Bay enjoyed significant jumps on every poll.

This early in the season the Panthers are in good standing and shouldn’t fall much if they can’t leave Atlanta with a victory. However, losing their first divisional game could have future implications on the playoffs as seeding becomes a major factor – especially in what is expected to be a tight race for the title.
