Julio Jones vs. James Bradberry

Julio Jones is one of the game’s top receivers. He has proven year after year why defenses lose sleep over trying to cover him. The Carolina Panthers probably are hoping for a similar game out of Jones like the last time these two teams met. He snagged five passes for 80 yards but did not record a score on December 31.  If the defense can contain him, they will be in business.

James Bradberry should be the guy covering Jones, and it is safe to say he has a tall task ahead of him. Nevertheless, he is ready for the challenge. Although it’s easier said than done, as long as squares up  to Jones and does not allow him too much breathing room, he should be okay. I would not play him tightly. Rather, I would sag off him a bit to avoid the big play. That means he can beat you on short, quick throws, but I would rather see that than give up the deep ball.

It should be interesting to see who win this matchup battle. Right now, I would say it’s about even.
