Ian Thomas will have at least five catches and a TD

This may seem like a wild prediction, but I am going with it. Ian Thomas will catch five passes and score touchdown on Sunday. With Greg Olsen out for the foreseeable future, Thomas and Chris Manhertz will have to man the tight end position.

Per the most recent depth chart from CBSSports.com, Thomas is the starter as of right now. Manhertz is at the No. 2 spot. Although Thomas does not have the same amount of skill Olsen does, I would expect Newton to target him quite a bit on Sunday. Newton loves going to his tight ends and I would not expect that to change on Sunday. Although Thomas caught only two passes for four yards last Sunday, I would expect his production to increase.

I am predicting he will record at least five catches and a touchdown on Sunday. I would look for him more in the red zone than anywhere else. The Panthers have a number of wideouts who can get the ball down the field, leaving Thomas as a secret weapon in the red zone. This could be the game where he breaks out and has a defined role in the offense.
