Luke Kuechly led the way with eight tackles, including two for a loss but it wasn’t enough. Even the Panthers defensive captain was reached by offensive center Alex Mack on more than one occasion and blocked from the play.

Shaq Thompson had a nice stop on third-down forcing the ball back to Carolina with a little over a minute to play but he too had already allowed a touchdown to tight end Austin Hooper just before halftime.

This unit wasn’t helped by the poor play of those in front of them but they could have used a bit more consistency in their own performance.
