Kicker Graham Gano nailed a 54-yard field goal on the Panthers opening possession but was relegated to only extra point attempts for the remainder of the game. He was a perfect three-for-three but two kickoff returns resulted in good field position for the Falcons.

Punter Michael Palardy pinned the Falcons back inside their own 15-yard line twice, once just before the half with a little over one-minute remaining. It didn’t matter as Ryan orchestrated a touchdown scoring drive to put Atlanta on top before the break.

Moore had a nice kickoff return of his own but wasn’t much of a factor in the punt game. Once it appeared Carolina attempted to block a punt but much like their defensive line counterparts, no one could get there to make a play.

Overall, it was a failed effort beginning up front as Ryan was able to operate without any pressure for much of the game, leaving little hope for a victory.
