Kick Return

  • Steve Smith, Michael Bates

The kicker for this group was one of the most accurate and trustworthy ones of all time. He is well-known for having many scoring records with the team but also the kickoff in the closing moments of Superbowl XXXVIII.

The punter, on the other hand, was indeed a great one for the team. In over a hundred games, he was the Panthers lone punter.

The returners were some threats when it came to special teams, and both of them had a variety of touchdowns. A player that did not make the roster, but should be noted is Damiere Byrd. Byrd has the longest kick-off return for a touchdown in team history with a 103-yard return.
