Cam Newton

Cam Newton continues to be on a roll. We touched on it a bit Sunday, but it cannot be overstated. He is having a great year and is truly becoming the bona fide director of the Panthers offense.

Newton went 15-of-24 on the day throwing for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He did not stop there as he also rushed for two touchdowns and 36 yards on 10 carries. This is a game where we saw him do a little bit of everything. It seems like I write that every week, but it is true. Newton has seemed to be able to balance being a top-notch passer while also being a great runner. He had six total rushing touchdowns last year. He has three already this year. After a rough start against Dallas, it seems as though he is performing top-notch in Norv Turner’s offense.

He is having the makings of a season that would put him in the MVP conversation. I would not put him in the conversation this early in the season. However, if he keeps this pace up, he should be in the conversation by season’s end.
