The Carolina Panthers bettered their defense last week, signing Eric Reid.

The Carolina Panthers needed to upgrade their safety position and did just that. It is hard to ignore the talent of Eric Reid who has made a mark on the National Football League from the moment he stepped on the field. It is uncharacteristic for a team to make a move for a player that can make such a big impact this late into the season, but it had to be done.

Marty Hurney made it clear that he signed Reid based on talent, and there is no doubt that the former has a ton of it. He will be able to help the Panther secondary as they look to sure up the position in a division full of offense. Especially with more tough divisional games coming up, this signing may prove to be a special one throughout the course of the regular season.
