Three bold predictions for Carolina Panthers vs. New York Giants
Cam Newton will throw for at least 300 yards
This may seem like an obvious prediction but given how the Giants’ defense has played, it is a bold one. Cam Newton will throw for at least 300 yards in this one. After struggling a bit against Dallas, he has come on and really found his niche within the offense. It will certainly put the Giants’ stout passing defense to the test.
Currently, they rank No. 10 in the league, giving up 915 yards on the season. Allowing 7.2 yards per attempt, they surrender 229 yards per game. Currently, the Carolina Panthers pass for 204 yards per contest, putting them at No. 25 in the league. The Giants have only recorded two interceptions on the year, so their secondary poses no real threat in terms of ballhawk ability.
The Carolina Panthers have the weapons to have a nice game through the air. We are beginning to see everything come together. That of course is why the team is in a nice groove as they come in fresh off the bye week. Newton in particular has found ways to be successful, most notably involving all his wideouts in the pass game. I would not expect that to change and I would expect both Devin Funchess and McCaffrey to have big games.
