Two Panthers players honored by Pro Football Focus
They are not your typical Carolina Panthers names either.
A quarter of the way through the season, the Carolina Panthers are getting recognized for their hot start. Two players made Pro Football Focus’s All-Pro team for the first quarter of the season per multiple media reports. Let’s just say, the names are probably not who you expect.
Right tackle Taylor Moton and punter Michael Palardy were named as the two members of the team. In addition, Luke Kuechly picked up honorable mention honors.

Both of these nominations are well-deserved. Moton has [provided stability to the line, with stability being something the team desperately needs on the line. With all the injuries to the line, we were not sure how it was going to look. Fortunately, Moton has been a steady presence filling in for Daryl Williams. He has allowed only one pressure on Cam Newton all season, and has been rated highly by Pro Football Focus for his work.
Palardy has been the best punter in the league according to Steve Taranto of 247Sports and he has certainly come a long way from his roots. He went undrafted and struggled to find stability in the league. Now, it appears he will be with the Carolina Panthers for the foreseeable future. Earlier this week, the team signed him to a three-year extension, keeping him in Carolina long-term.
It is nice to see several names get recognized that are not your typical names. Usually a guy like Cam Newton gets these honors. While he is more than deserving of them, it is nice that players who may not always make the headlines get them as well. These two have performed very well over the past couple of games and hopefully they can keep this up. Particularly Moton, he needs to continue to help out the offensive line. To this point, they qhave been doing an admirable job.
It will be interesting to see if both these players can keep up their strllar performance. With all the depth the Carolina Panthers have, having additional bodies that are experiencing career years is a definite bonus.
