Carolina Panthers defense performance through first quarter of 2018

Secondary: 77, C+

B vs. Cowboys, C- at Falcons, C+ vs. Bengals, C vs. Giants

Still a weak point of the Carolina defense, a young secondary has been tested, injured and has yet to completely fall apart. While there have been breakdowns throughout different games, this group has also forced some key turnovers to keep Carolina in their last two games.

Rookie Donte Jackson on the outside opposite James Bradberry has shown promising ability at the professional level. Both corners continue to improve and Bradberry is developing into a serious playmaker in his third season.

An injury at safety led to Carolina signing Eric Reid who was expected to improve the play of a unit struggling down the field. Playing nearly the entire game after just a week of practice, expect this unit to continually improve with more time on the field together.
