The Carolina Panthers win on the road in Washington, if…

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis returns this week after serving a four game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. In his absence the Panthers have won three of their four games but everyone – including fans, coaches and his teammates will be happy to see No. 58 back on the field for Carolina.

He will be needed against a Washington Redskins team that has shown signs of being a contender this season. Despite getting blown out by the New Orleans Saints on national television this past Monday night, Washington remains 2-2 and atop the NFC East division.

The Panthers need a win to keep pace with those Saints, who are on a bye this week. A victory would tie the two NFC South rivals atop the division even though both have losses to fellow divisional opponents in the Falcons and Buccaneers.

A lot of returning to Charlotte with a victory depends on these key factors when the Panthers and Redskins face off in Week 6 of the regular season.
