Redskins wideouts vs. Panthers defensive backs

Again, this is a matchup that feeds right into the hands of the Carolina Panthers. How the Redskins wideouts do against the Panthers defensive backs will be an intriguing matchup to watch on Sunday.

The Redskins are at the bottom of the league in receiving yards in the National Football League. With 1,042 yards to this point, there is certainly room for improvement. That puts them at No. 26 in the league. Their leading wideout is running back Chris Thompson. He has caught 26 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. To his credit, he averages 7.7 yards per catch.

That should make life for the Panthers secondary rather easy. They already have seven interceptions on the year. That puts them in a tie for fifth-most with the New York Jets. This secondary is not afraid to go up and get the ball. They are more than just cover corners, they are ballhawks. They have the ability to suffocate offenses and they should be able to do that on Sunday.
