Thomas Davis

TD is back! Thomas Davis returned from his four-game suspension on Sunday and it was almost like he had never left. Some were wondering if he would show up on the stat sheet and did he ever.

Davis recorded six tackles and two pass deflections in defeat. Those are pretty good numbers considering he was dealing with a multitude of things, most notably the loss of his father. It looked as though he had not missed a beat. He was both aggressive and effective.  A healthy and rejuvenated Davis will be key for the Panthers moving forward. The defensive line, although it showed some holes on Sunday, still should be considered one of the best in football and Davis should be a big part of that.

He will face a test against the Eagles. Their strong running game is built on physicality. Davis is a physical football player and should be up for the challenge. Who can forget the last time these two teams played last October? I expect it to be the same kind of gritty game. That will play right into his strengths.
