Quarterback: B

Quarterback Cam Newton had one lousy pass which was intercepted near midfield on a 3-and-17 play where he took a chance. Former Panthers cornerback Josh Norman came down with the ball but Washington couldn’t capitalize. The only time they didn’t make Carolina pay for a mistake.

He led the team in rushing, again, accumulating 43 yards on nine carries – some through scrambling and others by design. Completing 67-percent of his passes, Newton spread the ball to seven different receivers, including two touchdowns.

Starting at their own 16 yard line, Newton moved Carolina down the field to the Washington 16, but three straight incomplete passes ended any chance at another Panthers late game victory.
