Carson Wentz vs. the Panther passing defense

This should be one of the better subplots of the entire game. How will the arm of Carson Wentz fare against the Carolina passing defense? It will be a test of strength against strength in this matchup.

Currently, Carolina has the No. 7 ranked passing defense in the league in total yards given up. They have surrendered 1,278 yards on the year. In terms of what that amounts to per game however, the numbers are a bit less satisfying. 256 yards per contest puts them at No. 15 in the league. If there is one bright spot, it is the amount of interceptions the team has  With seven on the year, that ranks the No. 8 in the league.

Carson Wentz had a great game for the Eagles last week against the Giants. He completed 26-36 passes for 278 yards and a touchdown. After struggling to find a groove the last couple of weeks, Wentz got back to being the quarterback everyone expects him to be. This will present a challenge particularly to the Panthers secondary,  but they should be up to the challenge. The Eagles love to throw the ball deep and I would expect more of the same on Sunday.
