Score Early

Only during the first two weeks of the year has Carolina scored first in a ball game. It produced mixed results with a win over Dallas and road loss to Atlanta, but there is no denying the Panthers need a better start against the Ravens.

Over the past two weeks, Rivera and his team have trailed by 17 before showing any signs of life and only once (Atlanta) has Carolina scored on their first possession. Against the top ranked defense in yards per game (280.6) and scoring (14.4), the Panthers need a good start to prove they are able to move the football and score.

An early touchdown would give Carolina the advantage and confidence moving forward in the game. The Ravens have rarely trailed early and only once by two scores when Cincinnati benefited from an interception and got out to a three touchdown lead. They cruised to a 34-23 win over the Ravens and if the Panthers can get similar results it will definitely help their chances.
