CMC will rush for over 80

It is no secret that the Baltimore Ravens have a stingy defense. On a team where historically defense has been a hallmark, they enter this contest one of the best defenses in the National Football League. This is going to make life difficult for many Carolina Panthers players including running back Christian McCaffrey. That’s why my prediction that he will rush for over 80 yards is a bold one.

The former Stanford product is not even rushing for that much per game to begin with. He currently ranks No. 13 in the league in yards per game. With 63 so far on the year, he has struggled to find running lanes. The Baltimore defense is certainly not going to help matters. They rank number five in the league in rushing yards given up per game. With 90.1 allowed so far on the year, they has been a running back’s worst nightmare.

McCaffrey already has proven to be more of an asset in the passing game than in between the trenches. As a result, I think he will only get 95 yards on the afternoon. He will probably get more touches as a receiver than as a running back. Either way, McCaffrey is going to need to be ready to shoulder the load offensively.
