Shaq Thompson

Shaq Thompson was a beast on the field Sunday. On a defense that features many talents, Thompson had his moment to shine. It seemed as though he had a nose for the football, always seeming to be in the middle of plays and taking his time to wrap up on his tackles.

Thompson led all defenders with 13 tackles on the afternoon. That was a season-high for him, and he tied for the lead among all defensive players in tackles, sharing the honor with Mason Thompson of the Washington Redskins. It was truly a breakout performance for him, in a year that has seen him get stronger as time goes on. In addition to the success he is having on the field now, he could certainly be considered one of the Panthers defensive leaders of the future.

It will be interesting to see what he does against Tampa Bay next Sunday. If he can continue with this upward trend, I truly believe the sky’s the limit for him. He has all the tools necessary to be successful. Now, he just has to continue to put together complete performances.
