The Buccaneers rushing attack will be stifled

We know that the Carolina Panthers defense is strong and possesses many playmakers. That should help them when they face a Tampa Bay Buccaneers rushing attack that has underperformed. That kicks off my first bold prediction that the Panthers will hold the Buccaneers to under 100 yards rushing.

100 yards may sound like a lot, but in actuality it isn’t. Particularly when you consider the level of talent in the NFC South alone, there are many running backs who can top 100 yards any given Sunday. At the moment, Tampa Bay could use one of them. They rank at the bottom of the National Football League in rushing yards on the season with 639. That is the fourth- worst among teams. This is good news for a stellar Carolina rushing defense that ranks seventh in the league with 1,465 yards given up on the season.

As of right now, the Buccaneers running back situation is a bit uncertain. According to the depth chart on their official website starting for the Buccaneers on Sunday would be Peyton Barber. He has 345 rushing yards on 93 attempts and a touchdown to boot. However, an ankle injury kept him out of practice on Wednesday and right now his status is listed as questionable. Either way, Carolina should have no problem handling the Tampa Bay rushing attack. Right now,  it seems to have made a minimal impact. That bodes well for the defense.
