Greg Olsen

It was nice to see tight end Greg Olsen in a bit of a groove. After being hampered by injuries to start the season, he continued to make an impact on Sunday. It looks as though he is getting fully adjusted to the offense, a good sign of things to come.

Olsen caught six passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Averaging 15.6 yards per catch, a 32-yard grab was his longest of the afternoon. What’s even more impressive is the fact that he was targeted six times, meaning he caught all of the passes thrown his way. He looked like the Olsen of old in this one. He did it all on Sunday, including making an impressive one-handed touchdown grab that brought back shades of Olsen as a Miami Hurricane. This was the third week in a row that he has caught a touchdown pass.

If he can continue to be a red zone threat while continuing to get healthy in the process, this would be a great sign for the Carolina Panthers. Adding a full-strength Olsen to this group of wide receivers is an opposing defense’s worst nightmare. He looks to be getting better game-by-game and here’s to hoping that upward trend continues.
