Eric Reid

I was only going to do three players for this list as usual, but I would be mistaken if I left Eric Reid off the top spot on this list. He put forth another great game on Sunday and showed that the Panthers made the right decision by bringing him in to their high-powered defense.

He recorded three tackles and a pass deflection,  a great day at the office for many players. However, his biggest achievement on the afternoon was an interception that he returned for 39 yards. It brought back shades of what he used to do with the San Francisco 49ers and gave us a glimpse (in case we had forgotten) about why he made the Pro Bowl during his time in the Bay Area. He looked confident on Sunday, something that has been the case throughout the entire year.

If he can continue this high level of play, the signing will continue to look like a steal. Hurney made a great move by bringing Reid in. He is the type of player that will be able to provide a strong defensive presence for the team. The Panthers already have a bunch of players who can do that, but it is always nice to have extra players who possess the same types of skills. Extra in this case means additional, as Reid has shown that he should not be left on the sidelines.
