Regain Confidence Up Front

The confidence factor is increasingly important for the five lineman in front of Newton. Believed to be an issue prior to the season due to multiple injuries, the Panthers offensive line quickly became a strong point.

Paving the way for running back Christian McCaffrey and keeping Newton upright – he’d only taken 12 sacks until last week – the group coach Ron Rivera and general manager Marty Hurney constructed have exceeded expectations.

After allowing consistent pressure last week, giving Newton a clean pocket from which to operate will be critical to restoring some faith in this group.
