Nick Chubb

Without a doubt, the Carolina Panthers have to key on running back Nick Chubb. The rookie out of Georgia has had a tremendous season and has been the focal point of the Browns rushing attack. He has truly made his presence felt in the National Football League and he is one of the many players that should contribute to a bright future for the Browns.

As was the case with the entire team however, last week was not his best week. He did rush for a touchdown, but carried the ball nine times for only 31 yards. Those numbers are disappointing in comparison to some of his other performances this season. Take for example the performance against the Atlanta Falcons on November 11. He carried the ball 20 times for 176 yards and a touchdown. A 92-yard dash was his longest of the afternoon. His only other 100-yard rushing game came in September against the Steelers. In that contest, he carried the ball three times for 105 yards, equaling out to an astounding yards per carry number.

Chubb should have a tough time against the Panthers run defense. They rank sixth in the National Football League with 96.3 yards given up per contest. In total, have given up 1,155 yards on the season. The one concerning number here is that they have allowed 4.1 yards per carry. Against a running back like Chubb, the Panthers will need their defense to a be a bit more stingy. Per statistics from Pro Football Focus, he has an offensive rating of 89 on the season, so the room for error for the defense will be very slim.
