Jarvis Landry

The Cleveland Browns got a playmaker when they traded for Jarvis Landry back in March. Coming off a season where he led the league with 112 receptions, the Browns picked up a bona fide playmaker. At the outset of the season, Landry didn’t seem to be himself. However especially after last week, he appears to be getting into a groove.

Last week against the Texans, he caught six passes (on nine targets) for 103 yards. Averaging 17.2 yards per reception, a 28 yard-catch was his longest of the afternoon. This marked the second time this season that he recorded a 100-yard game. The other occurrence took place against the Raiders back in September. He also recorded 103 yards in that game as well. In last week’s game against Houston, Landry posted a 76.2 offensive rating and a 77.9 receiving rating, both season-highs.

Landry is a matchup nightmare for any cornerback. His athleticism and speed make for a deadly combination. Most likely, he will be matched up against James Bradberry. Last week, Bradberry had a decent game, allowing four catches for 48 yards. His 59.7 coverage rating was his highest number since the team took on the Detroit Lions. He will certainly be challenged by Landry, and he will have to make sure to stay in front of him not let him gain the advantage in coverage. Otherwise, it could be a long afternoon.
