The Carolina Panthers final home game is against the Atlanta Falcons.

A sixth consecutive loss essentially ended any hope of the Carolina Panthers making the playoffs this year. After a promising start, this second half collapse is arguably the worst in team history and longest losing streak since Ron Rivera took over prior to the 2011 season.

As a result Carolina has elected to sit quarterback Cam Newton for the final two games. Battling continued shoulder soreness, Newton’s play has deteriorated over the second half as he threw nine interceptions and was pulled twice in long range pass situations.

The Atlanta Falcons are no strangers to injuries themselves. A depleted secondary and other issues derailed their hopes of competing for the NFC South title and a return trip to the playoffs earlier in the year. They snapped a five-game losing streak of their own last week with a win over the hapless Arizona Cardinals.

Continue to see how the Panthers focus on themselves and finish the season strong.
