Veteran Thomas Davis missed the first four games of 2018 and has made comments about a possible return. Without a contract, it will be interesting to see how general manager Marty Hurney broaches this topic as Davis may need to take a pay cut in order to return and truly benefit the team.

He’s stated that a reduced role wouldn’t be something that he would object to but the finances of everything are sure to be hot topic. In the middle, Luke Kuechly performed just as expected, dominating the opposition and leading the team in tackles (130).

With or without Davis entering 2019, the linebackers remain a solid piece to the defensive puzzle and one of the few areas Hurney doesn’t need to worry about once a decision on Davis has been reached.
