Quarterback
For years Panthers fans have been wondering when the team would find a legitimate successor for Newton. Increasing injury concerns for the franchise quarterback have only fueled this discussion and a move needs to be made sooner rather than later.
Obviously there aren’t any available options who would come in and immediately supplant Newton, even if he’s not 100-percent healthy, but someone needs to become the heir apparent to the throne this year.
If anything, the final two games of 2018 showed how important it is to have a legitimate backup. The team used three quarterbacks – Taylor Heinicke, Kyle Allen, Garrett Gilbert – over the final two games due to injuries, not performance.
All should be in the mix again during training camp but are any a long-term solution?
