Washington State tackle Andre Dillard is currently projected as a second-round pick but his NFL Combine results could improve his standing. While it isn’t likely that Dillard would fall further down the draft board, regardless of his performance, if he remains available when Carolina is on the clock for a second time, Dillard may be the selection.
A player capable of being an immediate starter at the prized left tackle position, Dillard has a great opportunity to prove his capabilities during the skill testing and measurement portions of the week. His athleticism and strong performance in college has many scouts already moving Dillard up the board.
If he does move into the first round, Carolina would likely face some difficult decisions if offensive lineman is, in fact, the target. Hurney has previously taken a tackle in round one and depending on how Dillard grades out over the next week, he could prove himself worthy of the high pick.
Stay tuned to see how each of the offensive lineman perform during bench press (Thursday) and on-field testing (Friday) at the NFL Combine this week.
