Carolina Panthers prospects to watch during Day 2 of the NFL Combine on field activities.

Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney is preparing for his thirteenth NFL Draft and there’s no shortage of needs. The roster has been aging of late and with both defensive end Julius Peppers and center Ryan Kalil already announcing their retirement, a concerted effort is being made to inject some youth into the lineup.

The problem is parting ways with proven players like linebacker Thomas Davis is no easy task, but ultimately it was decided the veteran captain would not be re-signed. Other aging candidates who won’t be back next season include safety Mike Adams and cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, creating even more openings.

Hurney has his work cut out for him on both sides of the football and the NFL Scouting Combine provides teams and fans their first glance at prospects completing some routine testing in order to prepare for the draft.

Day 2 features quarterbacks, receivers and tight ends – three areas where the Panthers have varying degrees of need. As these prospects take to the field on Saturday, March 2 in Indianapolis, keep an eye on the following candidates who may hear their names called by the Panthers in late April.
