The Panthers have used four draft picks on receivers in the first two rounds since losing Steve Smith. Although attempts to arm Newton with weapons out wide have been made, the results have been far from promising.

While Carolina isn’t expected to use a top pick this season, there are some intriguing mid-round prospects who could make an impact this week and on the Panthers roster, if selected. Georgia’s Terry Godwin is a slot option who also has some experience returning both kicks and punts.

A pristine route runner, Godwin fits the mold for how Carolina is revamping their receiver position. Moving from bigger targets to those who can generate separation and run after the catch, Godwin could land with the Panthers during the middle rounds.
