Running back is one position that hasn’t received a lot of attention due to the emergence of Christian McCaffrey but a reliable back able to split some of the workload would be a welcome addition. The Panthers currently have only two other players listed at the position, Elijah Hood and Reggie Bonnafon – not including fullback Alex Armah.

Fozzy Whittaker is a familiar option to return as a potential free agent signing but targeting a player in the draft makes more sense, especially if it is someone the Panthers can rely on to contribute immediately.

Damien Harris is expected to follow his backfield mate, Josh Jacobs, off the board in April and although the Panthers would surprise some with this selection, it may be warranted. Harris hasn’t caught many passes from the running back position but his athleticism and style would be a nice compliment to McCaffrey.
