The Carolina Panthers made a smart move on Friday.

The Carolina Panthers picked up former New England Patriots wide receiver Chris Hogan on Friday as they look to retool their roster. At first glance, it may not seem like that big a signing. However, this may prove to be one of the more underrated signings the organization has had in quite some time. Hogan brings his clutch catching abilities to an organization looking to add additional depth and talent to their receiving corps. They certainly picked the right player to help lead them to the promised land.

Hogan found a rebirth of sorts for his career by playing for the Patriots. Now, with two Super Bowls under his belt, he looks to bring that winning culture to the Carolinas. He may not be the Panthers leading receiver by the end of the season, but he has certain qualities that should make him an instant favorite in Carolina. His toughness and competitiveness are unmatched and his ability to be able to come up clutch in key situations are unlike anything I personally have ever seen before.

I take a look at three reasons to be excited about the pickup of Chris Hogan and what  he could bring to the organization. This could be an additional piece to help bring the Panthers to that next level. Starting with a postseason berth, they hope to be hoisting the Lombardi trophy at the beginning of February.
